The First Tribal Online Bingo Site in the US Shutdown Order

Desert Rose Bingo initially launched in November to players in California and by the following month December has been ordered to shut down.

The site features Bingo games for cash prizes powered by GreatLuck and is owned by the lipay Nation of Santa Ysabel.

A San Diego federal judge on Friday order the bingo site to shutdown stating it violates a compact between tribes and state that prohibits online gambling.

Tribal lawyers argued in court that players were placing wagers with a proxy which is located on the reservation and is therefore legal.

State lawyers found the reasoning ridiculous that it was done on reservation land therefore legal.

The tribe requested to the judge not to order a site closing until a full hearing and legal arguments could be heard.
